A journey through the most significant places in the life and times of Miguel de Cervantes. Visitors may also visit enclaves intimately linked to the author's famous work, Don Quixote of La Mancha.
The route includes the following Paradores:
Oropesa: First and second days
La Mancha, land of the plains, land of knights errant and vassals, offers us the opportunity to discover it on this journey. We begin our travels in Oropesa, where we can explore the 16th-century Jesuit School, Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Church (15th-century), and the New Palace (15th-century).
Sigüenza: Third day
When you arrive in the city, you cannot help but be amazed by the beauty it displays. This unique urban setting is presided over by the castle, which is home to the Parador. Highlights of the town include the cathedral, Main Square (Plaza Mayor), House of the Doncel, the façade of the Clarisas de Santiago (nuns of the Order of Saint Clare), San Vicente Parish Church and Santa María Parish Church. There are squares and streets to discover, to explore, to travel back to a splendorous past in the perfect city in which to bid a special farewell to this route through the lands of La Mancha, the land of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.
Cuenca: Fourth day
The magical city of Cuenca awaits you, with its Hanging Houses (Casas Colgadas), cathedral, San Miguel Church, San Pedro Church, Descalzas Convent and San Nicolás, among other monuments. Discover the beauty of the nearby Enchanted City (Ciudad Encantada), where stone comes to life. The Museum of Abstract Art opens its doors to art lovers. And for the curious of mind, what better spots than the Castile-La Mancha Museum of Sciences and the archeological museum?
Alarcon: Fifth day
Lunch (only for half board route).
We stop along the road from Cuenca to enjoy the cuisine of this lovely Parador, which is situated in a castle. Alarcón, despite its small size, holds such secrets as the churches of Santa María (6th-century), La Trinidad (13th and 14th-century), San Juan Bautista, and Santo Domingo de Silos. A stroll through the Main Square (Plaza Mayor) or discovering the remains of the town walls are other surprises which await you. Close to the Parador, the Hoces del Río Gabriel Nature Reserve is an extraordinary spot for nature lovers. Of special note are the cuchillares, incredibly beautiful rock formations.
Albacete: Fifth day
The largest city in Castile-La Mancha awaits you at its Parador, which resembles a La Mancha estate. In the city, you can visit the interesting Municipal Archeological Museum or walk along the streets of a city which truly knows how to enjoy the little things in life. Near the Parador, you will find Chinchilla de Montearagón. It is well worth the effort to climb up to the castle to look out over La Mancha and the plains which have made it famous. Other interesting visits include Alcala del Júcar and the Alcaraz y Segura Mountains.
Almagro: Sixth day
This white town awaits us on the La Mancha plain, like a ship rising up amidst a sea of flatlands. The city has a number of interesting sites, including the Fucares Storehouse, the famous Corral de Comedias (an open-air theater), the extremely lovely Main Square (Plaza Mayor) and the National Theater Museum. Also noteworthy are the many large homes and palaces which you will come across in various parts of the town.
Manzanares: Seventh day
This is a spot to rest and relax on this route through the lands of La Mancha. Close to Manzanares you will find lovely natural spots such as the Ruidera Lakes or Tablas de Daimiel. The latter is an important bird reserve, a protected area where visitors can discover nature in all its vibrant life.

Route with bed and breakfast (full route price. VAT included):
Per person in standard double room: 408 euros.
Per child in extra bed (children up to 12): 38.50 euros.
Per adult in extra bed: 308.70 euros.
Double room for single occupancy: 606.60 euros.
Route with half board (full route price. VAT included):
Per person in standard double room: 640 euros.
Per child in extra bed (children up to 12): 154.50 euros.
Per adult in extra bed: 540.70 euros.
Double room for single occupancy: 867.60 euros.
The route includes:
Seven nights’ stay in a standard double room with the meal option of your choice (Bed and Breakfast or Half Board)
The route does not include:
Transport, which is the responsibility of the guest(s)
Tours or tickets to monuments or places of interest (details provided for informational purposes only)
Terms and Conditions
General Terms and Conditions
The route begins on Sunday and ends on Sunday.
Neither the dates of your stay, nor the hotels, may be altered or changed during the route.
This route is valid for visits starting January 1-July 8 (inclusive) and August 26-December 16, 2012 (inclusive). Except visits starting April 1, October 21, and December 2, 2012.
This route and rates are not valid for groups.
The client must carry a valued voucher up to the total amount of the Route indicating the name of the Route. This voucher will be given to the first Parador of the Route.
Cancellations
Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the date of arrival will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night’s stay on the route.
Cancellations made during the course of the route will not be entitled to any refund of the price paid.
No-shows: Failure to keep your reservation on the first day of the route will result in cancellation of the entire route, and will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night’s stay.
Once the route has begun, failure to keep your reservation at any Parador without giving prior notice will result in automatic cancellation of the reservation at that Parador, as well as at the remaining Paradors on the route.
